Program Overview
The Slane Student Center is a state of the art fitness facility which offers High Point University Students a full line of fitness amenities and recreational services. HPU REC is tailored to a comprehensive approach to wellness, fellowship and life-long fitness. All services provided by the recreation department are complimentary. The fitness center includes a wide range of industry leading strength and cardio equipment. Each cardio machine features a high definition television and ipod jack allowing students to enjoy the music and entertainment of their choice.
The Multi-functional recreation court has the capability to hold two full-court basketball or volleyball games simultaneously. Surrounding the court is the suspended cushioned running track. A fully operational group exercise room allows for both private and group exercise classes. Group Exercise Certified Instructors offer an array of classes ranging from the ever- popular Yoga, Spinning and Zumba to the latest, cutting edge fitness workouts and trends. Each Spring and Fall semester HPU REC offers a 5-week Boot Camp taught by a local fitness professional.
The Maynard outdoor heated pool and 16-person Jacuzzi offer a chance for a relaxing break. Leisure activities include Bocce Ball, Corn Hole, Ladder Golf, Bicycles, Trikkes and a Tandem bike. An Outdoor basketball court is also available for your enjoyment.
Intramural Sports (IM) feature competitive and non-competitive programming for female, male and co-ed teams. Each semester IM Sports provides students with both team and individual competition. Some of the sports offered include: flag football, soccer, in-door and beach volleyball, tennis, basketball, ultimate frisbee, wiffleball, kickball and racquetball. - Pool area is open year round from 10 a.m. until dark. Eat lunch, study, play cornhole or just relax poolside. However, swimming is NOT PERMITTED unless lifeguard is on duty.

HPU Outdoor Discovery aims to provide activities that are designed to present students with new experiences that will build friendships that could last a lifetime. Best of all every activity and trip that we put together is complimentary to all High Point University Students. The HPU Outdoor Discovery team loves ADVENTURE and we love taking people along with us. We enjoy the challenges, adrenaline and beauty of being outside and discovering the outdoors. Outdoor Discovery is a way for High Point University Students to experience firsthand challenges, excitement and adventure. We will go on all kinds of adventures like backpacking/ camping trips, rock climbing trips, day hikes, and ski trips just to name a few.

All intramural participants will be required to create an account on IMLeagues.com.
To create an IMLeagues account:

How to sign up for an intramural sport:
(IE www.imleagues.com/Schools/HighPointUniversity/Registration) OR
Go to www.IMLeagues.com and click Create Account
1. Enter your information, and use your school email address (@highpoint.edu), and submit.
2. You will be sent an activation email, click the link in the email to login and activate your IMLeagues account.
3. You should be automatically joined to your school If not you can search schools by clicking the "Schools" link1. Log in to your IMLeagues.com account.
2. Click the Create/Join Team button at the top right of your User Homepage page to go to your school's homepage on IMLeagues.
3. The current sports will be displayed, click on the sport you wish to join.
4. Choose the league you wish to play in (Men's A, Men's B, Women, etc.)
5. Choose the division you'd like to play in (Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, etc.)
6. You can join the sport one of three ways:
a. Create a team (For team captains)
i. Captains can invite members to their team by clicking the "Invite Members" link on the team page. Any invited members must accept the invitation to be joined to your team.
1. If they've already registered on IMLeagues: search for their name, and invite them.
2. If they haven't yet registered on IMLeagues: scroll down to the "Invite by Email Address" box, and input their email address.
b. Join a team
i. Use the Create/Join Team Button at top right of every page
ii. Accepting a request from the captain to join his team
iii. Finding the team and captain name on division/league page and requesting to join
iv. Going to the captain's playercard page, viewing his team, and requesting to join
c. Join as a Free Agent
i. You can list yourself as a free agent in as many divisions within a league as you'd like. You will be visible to all members of the site and can request to join teams, or post information about yourself so teams can request to add you to their team. - Recreation Center and Pool Hours Rec Center Hours
